July-August 2005 News Letter

Greetings dear Pastor and Church friends:

You all have our concern and prayers for the devastation that America has suffered these last days. We are still getting more rain than usual, but nothing compared to the incredible happenings there. We only hope and pray that somehow many will be brought to the point of considering eternity and the needs of their souls. Certainly it points up the fact that the only sure possession we have is in heaven with God.

The last month has been especially busy with two pastors visiting, preaching, and planning trips for their churches here next year. We were privileged to have Pastors Jimmy Withers from Aurora, TX. and Tom Minnick and his wife, Cheryl, from Monroe, WA. I think their visit to the churches in the mountains and the city gave them new insight into the difficulty of ministering here. One pastor said, "That was the longest 60 miles I have ever traveled in my life!" But also it was a blessing for our people and for the pastors who appreciated the openness and friendliness of the people. They also brought us much needed tools for the construction, ink cartridges, VCR for showing Christian films, books and things for the children's ministry. How we appreciate the love and generosity of their churches. It was such a blessing to have pastor friends visiting and being able to share our beautiful country and people with them. If you would like to come and visit,, please contact us and we will plan a memorable missions trip.

In between the visits of the pastors, We had 14 adults and teens saved in two mountain works. Four more were saved in August. The count of persons accepting Christ is 196 for the year. Debbie's children classes are going well and growing. Recently she had 38 in the mountain work in Ojo de Agua and started a children's class in the work in Monte Verde. We have 7 enrolled in the Saturday Bible Institute.

The church building in Colonia San Carlos of La Esperanza (our neighborhood) is going well. All the walls are up and the trusses are made. Now we lack a floor, roof, smoothing the block walls, windows, doors, etc. If you would like to help let us know! Also if you have extra sound equipment you would like to donate, we could use it.

We love and appreciate you all,

In Christ's love and Service,

Mike and Debbie Lane
