NEWS LETTER - OCTOBER 2005 |

Dear Pastor & church, Furlough Therese and I are presently in the USA for a three-month furlough. We are concentrating our visits to our supporting churches in the Florida area although we do have scheduled visits to the Northeast as well as a few in Texas. We were able to pass through San Antonio to visit my Mother and brother who live in the New Orleans area and had to be evacuated because of Hurricane Katrina. My Mother's home was not badly damaged, but my brother lost most of his possesions. They have now returned home. Pray for them as they try to get things back in order and for us as we travel on furlough. Mount Calvary Baptist Camp Therese and I directed the last week of family retreat. Pastor Dennis Isbell of the Grace Baptist Temple in San Antonio, Texas, was the main speaker. The theme of the retreat was "True Worship." There were just under a hundred campers who attended and four made professions of faith. During the five weeks of camp this past summer, sixteen souls received Christ as Saviour. Therese and I were privileged to have with us in family camp our daughter, April and our two grandchildren, Seth and Morgan Elizabeth. Eighteen people total attended from the Leganes Baptist Church. Leganes Baptist Church Sunday AM, August 28th, Pastor Isbell preached in our Worship service. Sixty- four were in attendance. Immediately after the service, more than half of the church traveled to our sister church in Mostoles, for a baptismal service. Five were baptized including two junior high age brothers, Jose y Miguel and a mother, Yanet and her young son, Jonathan, as well as her son-in-law, Jose Luis. Pray for their growth in the Lord. In our absence from Spain, the church voted to make Harry Garris, our deacon, the interim pastor of the church. Pray that the Lord will use this occasion of service while we are on furlough to confirm his call to the ministry, and that the church will continue to grow.
