Dear Friends at Northside, We wanted to give you an update on things here in Cambodia. God is really blessing us lately with souls saved and folks following the Lord in baptism. We have about 100 people involved in various discipleship ministries: one on one, cell-groups, and some larger classroom type settings. Further, we have 23 students now attending the Bible College in Phnom Penh. Last year we had seven students there, but we have tripled that number in the last year. We've baptized eighteen people in the last three weeks also! Our mission works in the villages are growing also. We are seeing both numerical and spiritual growth in the village churches. Our churches and missions are located in: 1. Phnom Penh, national capitol of Cambodia 2. Prey Veng, capitol of Prey Veng province 3. Prey Angkunh, village in Prey Veng province 4. Tuol Sanker village in Prey Veng province 5. Ampov Prey village in Kandal province. In Ampov Prey, we are now putting up a new church building. There are pictures attached to this letter showing some of our people carrying bricks for the construction. In Prey Angkunh, we now have an opportunity to buy a plot of land for the amazing low price of only $300. Yes, three hundred dollars. It is big enough to build a simple worship structure and is on the main road through the village. So, please pray about that need. We also have a Manna Worldwide feeding center in our Phnom Penh church. Tuesday through Saturday we feed 33 children two hot meals everyday. I t's been a blessing to our church and many of the extended family members have been saved as a result of this labor of love. And, we have our orphanage. Right now the orphanage is in our home. We are in the midst of a building project right now. We're putting up a new orphans' home. I don't know if we'll fill it, but it will have room for 100 children. Right now, we have ten orphans: nine boys and one girl. The children need your prayers as we try to teach the way of the Lord. We need prayer for wisdom and guidance from the Lord. We just took in a new boy the day before yesterday. I've attached a picture of him to this letter, as well as some pictures of our van on the tiny ferry crossing the Bassac river. Read our blog to get more details on that trip. Whew! We have ongoing needs that I'd like to explain to you: 1. The big one first, is a $46,000 need for construction funds to finish our new orphanage by the end of March. By faith we are trusting God to provide this amount in the next six months. 2. Our ministry needs a cheap, second-hand van. We can buy a Korean model for about $2,600. This will transport our 23 Bible students back and forth to the college each day, as well as taking them to work in the various village missions every week. 3. We still need a couple of motorcycles for rural ministry: a. 250 cc dirt bike, $1,800 b. 125 cc motorscooter, $1,000 4. $300 for a small plot of land in Prey Angkunh and the funds to put up a simple structure for worship.
